No New Food...
Meeting commitments tonight, so no new food until tomorrow. Raining and gross outside - I'd much rather be cooking than driving! At least I have some nice leftover offal pie in the oven.
Our eating has changed significantly over the past year as we have come to embrace what we believe is a healthier way of eating. We have lost weight and in general are in better health thanks in large part to this diet change. In a nutshell, we follow four principles: 1. Eat whole foods, and the whole food.Eating whole foods means avoiding processed ones. Whether animal or vegetable, consume as many of the edible parts as you can. 2. Limit carbs. We especially watch our consumption of wheat, because of its gluten, and refined sugars. 3. Use animal fats instead of vegetable oils.Olive, nut, and coconut oils in moderation are ok. 4. Use animal products only from pasture-raised and finished creatures. This includes dairy, eggs, and meat. Even when there is only a small taste difference, nutritional values between these and products from animals given feed are significant.
